Joyous Few Mins....

Cathy had a very special visitor last Saturday afternoon, it came as a complete surprise to us, as it was the nurse in charge who told her sons, her future daughter-in-law and myself, that when asked if there was anything that Cathy wished for, this was her answer…
" I wish I could have a cuddle with Pepper and say goodbye"
Pepper is her baby girl, Cathy rescued her two years ago and since then, apart from the odd unavoidable occasion, like the last five weeks, they were never apart..
Cathy had told them that Pepper was loved, would be very well cared for and was happy here, she’d seen photo’s and video’s of her playing with our Brynner and Harriet, so didn’t have to worry about her..

This is the last photo I will ever be able to take of my beloved sister, my daughter was able to hide that it was actually taken in hospital whilst hooked up to a machine, Pepper stayed with Cathy for 30mins, bless her it was almost as though she had rallied just for her beloved Pepper for in those minutes she was able to speak properly and clearly and said
“Ah Hello Pepper I Do Love You” ..

My beloved sister went to sleep on Sunday 29th at 2-20 am … R I P Catherine Sheila xxx

A life well lived is a precious gift
Of hope and strength and grace,
From someone who has made our world
A brighter, better place
It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad
With smiles and sometimes tears,
With friendships formed and good times shared
And laughter through the years.
A life well lived is a legacy
Of joy and pride and pleasure,
A living, lasting memory
Our grateful hearts will treasure

So sad to read, take very good care of yourself, and try to remember nothing but the good times.

Such a lovely photo Sue, something joyful, though filled heartbreak. A few weeks before our lovely Meg had to be put to sleep a good friend of mine gave Meg and me a lift to the care home where my lovely husband Derek was being cared for. I picked her up and put her on his lap, she went straight to her usual position with her head on his chest looking up adoringly into his face. She hadn't seen him for almost two years. This was a couple of months before I lost him. She was too old to be able to walk to the bus stop etc and I'm so grateful to my friend for that moment. Yes, life can be a bitch, but gives us moments x
