Mad March in the garden...

We’re having a weird and very changeable month weather wise, even when the sun pays a visit, (not often this week ) its still cold but the gardens are loving it…
My hellebores started flowering last August, they have been so good this year, guess that means I might get fed up of constant rain for what seemed like weeks on end but it certainly makes them happy…
I never cut them down until the seeds have fallen so my stock grows all the time, I’ve also learnt to allow them to grow on and produce flowers before moving them to a new place…
I love daffs and they are doing me proud, so cheerful even on a grey day…
My Photina is showing off as you can see..
Prunus also strutting its stuff…
At long last the birds are allowing my primroses to flower, every year they eat the first flowers especially the red ones…
Frogs doing what comes naturally…
Work has stopped on my long border as its too wet, I will have plants to move ( when the bulbs finish ) that won’t be until beginning of May though by which time I’ll hopefully know what I’m moving, lol….
Now this I am pleased with, as you all know it was only done last summer, you can’t really see them in the photo but the new alpines I bought are filling out, like me they need some warmth to give them encouragement..
Various seeds growing in the g’house, not as many as last year , still undecided whether to grow a few toms and cucumbers, I only lost one succulent, however my pelargoniums did succumb to that really cold snap even though I had the heater on, never mind can’t win them all, fingers xx my fuschia’s are okay …
Enjoy your gardens everyone…..

Another lovely smart garden, Lincs. I love your hellebores, too. We have a few interesting seedlings this year as well, probably nicer than their parents! I'm surprised your birds go for the red primroses, I thought they always went for the yellow ones first. I envy you your amorous frogs. I would like some spawn in my patch.

Its all looking very encouraging, especially the last pic. What is going to appear in that later when the daffs are over? Hellebores have been good this year - like your double white one! Guess the Prunus is star of the show just now though!

Lovely garden, Lincslass! 👏 The Cherry tree is looking wonderful at the moment & your Hellebores are great! I'd like to grow them on the balcony but it's too sunny for them. We get the sun on the balcony from 11am till it goes down in the evening, so they wouldn't be at all happy! 😞

Lovely garden. I enjoyed viewing, the prunus is lovely & I'm seeing lots of trees in blossom round here also, both pink & white.

You have a good collection of hellebores Sue and I too love the daffs. I love your new little garden too and its going to look lovely in the summer! I love your cherry tree!
I see that you have some primula denticulatas! I love them and couldn't bring mine with me when we moved as it wasNovember. I have been trying to find some since , but I can't find them anywhere. Even the big garden centres don't have them!

Terra I'm really pleased with my new area, looking forward to seeing the roses in bloom, I need to straighten up the birdbath as it has sunk slightly but that is a job for later when the bulbs have finished....The weather is erratic this week, we don't know whether we are coming or going, its not stopping the plants in the garden itself but I'm keeping an eye on the temps in the g'house..

Rose the denticulatas only grow in that spot, I've tried many times to get white ones established but they refuse to grow, the times I split from the ones you see never survive anywhere else, weird I know but that's plants for you., I also have auricula's growing on the back of the pond, they came from mum's garden many moons ago, I cannot grow them anywhere else either...
