Dinner in the garden

Hope you are all enjoying some lovely weather. It is in the mid twenties here…….not over thirty degrees which I would find too much.
It is lovely sitting in the garden in the evening having dinner. The trouble is I see all the changes to the plants I should make while eating my salad and drinking a nice glass of wine.
Most of my blogs include wine!!!

Great idea Brian...look forward to seeing it. I like things made of glass in the garden!

We are expecting 27 degrees today. Our walled garden is always a bit warmer tho'.
Andrew, that sounds awful......you're poor garden.
I like it hot only when there is a large expanse of water in front of me.
I could give you lots of bottles for your planter, Brian. :o)
Karen and I await the end result.

lovely garden and I fancy a cool glass of something. its been 32c here today and it is really muggy. Slept in the conservatory last night and it was 24c but the coolest room in the house.
We had a good drenching on Tuesday/Wednesday due to the thunderstorm so the plants are not suffering too much at the moment. We are forecast rain most of the weekend so that should be cooler. Its the humidty I struggle with.
that sounds like a fun project Brian, planning and executing. :o)

I did think of building a wall at one time If I had started when I thought of it would probably be 10 ft high and 10 feet long by now

It has been perfect here today. Warm but not too hot. We have rain Saturday until Monday. Why can't it just rain at night?
I guess you don't need any help with the bottles, Brian.

I’ve been helping Brian out a bot tonight Linda. I’ve opened a bottle of very nice Rioja!

I am very fond of a nice Rioja. Cheers!

Looks like a lovely spot to sit, even without the wine! The Lobelias are a stunning colour and I love your shaded bed against the wall. Oh for a lovely brick wall for sheltering plants and training them on.

I wouldn't be changing anything - looks beautiful. Enjoy the rest!

The Lobelia is a new addition to my garden, Honeysuckle. I saw it across a crowded garden centre and thought.....you are for me.
The wall is great. It stops high winds and keeps the garden warm and calm.
We need to rest now and again in the garden, Sunnydais.
I like to admire my hard work as often as possible.

Love the first pic Linda ... just what gardens are made for but somehow I don`t think us gardeners take advantage often enough. You can see from your wonderful borders how hard you`ve worked in pulling it all together and the Lobelia is a jewel.

Glad you were able to enjoy a glass of Rioja in your garden, Linda!
That lobelia is a gorgeous plant! I'd like a couple of those on the balcony! LOL!
On Thursday 25th July 2019 Cambridge, only 20 miles away from us, registered 38.7C, the highest temp ever recorded in the UK since records first begun! It's official & has been entered into the record books.
That same day we were travelling in a very hot (& very slow) train on our way back home from spending 4 days at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, with our grandkids & their mum & dad. The train was very slow because speed restrictions had been brought in because the heat was in danger of buckling the rails & melting the overhead wires! 😱

Just playing catch up..it was far too hot to eat outside...Your garden looks really relaxing and the plants all very healthy....lovely Lobelia.....the temperature is just right now...ideal for an alfresco dinner....cheers!

I like the first pic best Linda! We are indoors hiding from the heat. It isn’t as bad as yesterday, but its making my flushes a lot worse! So I’m sitting indoors. Tried to do some knitting, but fell asleep!
