I listened from the garden with the children cheering and the bells ringing from St. Peters and the cars going whoo whoo whoo....and the helicopter flying just above where we live that I waved to. With my knees at the moment I couldn't cope with standing for a long time. One knee to go with an operation then hopefully I shall be o.k. Gerry went down and filmed some of the race. These are a few clips from that. He enjoyed watching the cyclists coming through Belper.

It is a wonderful sight as they all go past plus the back up teams and the escorts etc!

They avoided Devon this year so we missed out on the great atmosphere and spectacle but glad that you saw it and enjoyed it.

We've had them cycle through Belper several years ago from the other direction, and they also went through another route a few years ago past the Railway Pub on the Ashbourne Road towards Ashbourne from Duffield. It's lovely that so many people turn out to support them. Perhaps they will be on the Devonshire route again another year Wildrose. Gerry took a short video of the cyclists Waddy so that we can keep it. Watching the video, they came round that bend at a pace.

How exciting to have that through the villages. Great to see. So very fit these cyclists. The village further on up from us had time trials think it was the British Time Trials and there were flags and bunting out and lots of people to watch. I cannot stand for long so we didn't go to see. But quite a spectacle I am sure to see them all going around and such speeds.

Hi Oliveoil, We watch a lot of the cycling on the telly. It's nice to see the scenery when they cycle through as well.
