Piilu is in my favourite top 5, i prefer the double blooms so i prune the 2 plants i have differently !
I prune one for singles and one for doubles !!!
C. ‘Bijou’. This doesn’t climb, it’s ground cover.
Jackmannii ‘superba’. This is slightly different to how it ‘should’ look, but hey !
Here are a couple of my other lovelies that you’ve seen recently :-)
Jasione
Campanula ‘Sorastro’, tall hanging bells :-)
Astrantia ‘Hadspen Blood’

I love all them all. Please tell if they require certain care to produce lovely blooms.

Beautiful pics Louise, do you think ‘Bijou’ would be ok on my slope?

Thanks everyone :-)
Spritz, both of my Piilu are flowering now, the one in the front and back !
Bj, i love Jasione and have several clumps :-)))
Bofus, they like their roots in a cool place and the rest of them to be brighter, but they don't really need special treatment :-))
Annella, i think Bijou would look brilliant on your slope :-)))

Lovely Clematis, Louise! I've never grown them but I've always loved them!

Gorgeous pictures all of them, love the Astrantia, lovely colour and the Campanula with its tubular Bells!

You'r right Louise....where do I put them?????....I've got a couple of spiral supports that stretch up?....hoping to grow a couple of them up these...providing they are not too vigorous. The plants I have were from People's Friend offer last year? The President is down at the allotment.....the others are Gillian Blades; Madame de Bouchard; Warsaw Nike; and Scartho Gem......all for under £5.....a bargain indeed...lol

Blimey, they were bargains AA!! Lovely Piilu Louise. I love it. I had it in my old garden, but not here .....yet! My Bijou is nowhere near flowering. dont think there are even buds on there yet. I'm a bit disappointed, perhaps these ground cover ones are not going to do so well in my cold wet clay. However, I may take them out and put them in pots if they don't buck up! what are the other four in your top 5? I'd like to see if I share them!...now let me think...my top five would be: Niobe, Comtesse de Bouchaud, Gillian Blades, Blue angel and The Vagabond......but ....but....Fujumusume, Princess Diana, Florida Sieboldiii, Harlow Carr....No it's no good...I just can't choose!! :))))))

They're all gorgeous Loiuse ... you are a clematis - growing star!!

Great minds think alike eh>......I have Niobe and Harlow Carr....don't know what happened to my Princess Diana ...think it got crowded about by another one....Blue Angel and The Vagabond?....I have not heard of these varieties......yet...lol

Lovely plants Louise - I am very impressed. I planted several but seem to have lost some this winter. Maybe some will surprise me one of these days

Beautiful Flowers

Rm, sometimes they surprise you and throw up stems in late spring/early summer, i have one that's just sent up a new stem, i'd leave them rather than digging them - and just see :-/
Jeansusan, thank you :-)

Lovely pics Louise - Great choice of Clematis there. Hope I've made the right choices with mine. Had to go for the colour rather than the type when choosing mine recently as they were disappearing like 'hot cakes' off the stands in the Garden Centre.

Lovely photos as usual. Thanks for posting them! I enjoyed gazing. :-)))
