In The Heat Of The Night ....

Okay ……. so the heat is only 14 degrees !
Here are some pictures of my garden in the darker hours.
I love to see night time gardens because the atmosphere’s so different but the lighting’s difficult to master (well, for me anyway!) so that’s why it looks so lit-up !
This is the left hand side of the garden, showing – Photinia Red Robin, Heuchera Creme Brulee, a Hebe, Buddleia Black Knight, Aucuba (infront of these are Aquilegias and Geraniums) and infront is the middle sleeper with prostrate Rosemary growing all along the top of it and just below it to soften the sleeper is Stipa tenuissima, Ugni and a 12" high Lavender …. that planting’s repeated all along that middle sleeper – which runs across the garden left to right, dividing the lawn by a 8" height difference.
Pittosporum tom Thumb, ‘the’ Garrya, an almost naked Sambucus nigra, naked Clematis Ville de Lyon, variegated Pittosporum and infront are Heuchera Creme Brulee and Festuca.
This is along the back fence, a Naked Physocarpus Diablo, Hebe Panther, Euphorbia Baby Charm Ceanothus Concha and the sleeper with the repeat planting as before.
Same area, showing the naked Physocarpus Diablo, Eleagnus Limelight.
This is the top lawn area, where the seat is, you can see the front corner of the dry stone wall which is at the top of the rockery.
Same area, showing part of the bronze border where there are bronze Pittosporum ‘Purpureum’, Phormium Bronze Baby, Dodonaea ‘Purpurea’, Carex flagellifera and Testacea, Phormium Jack Spratt, the back, corner light is illuminating 2 Leucothoes, Heuchera Creme Brulee and a large Photinia Serrata.

What a good idea, taking photos at night. Your lighting looks great, so I think it looks as though you have mastered the art. It looks really good. Lighting at night lends another dimension doesn't it?
Having some privacy in the garden is so good too, we are lucky, as poor Grindle says, she can't just wander out and sit there at night.
Lovely photos Louise1.

I'm not very happy with the results of these photos, the light makes it look like daylight there :-(

Can't stay out of the garden even in 14 degrees in the dark! What an ardent hovering garden angel you are! Even the plants rest a bit...
