Weeds in the sun!

It’s hard the first long day back in the garden, OH MY BACK!! But pleased with the results!
I started the morning collecting another fine piece of ivy, luckily it was’nt too far from the flowerbed so I didn’t have to carry it far.
I planted one of my clems, Alpina Frankie
And replanted some fiery coloured Dogwood that I was given last year.
Milliepuss helped!
This may give an idea just how long this flowerbed is and why my back is aching!!
Hope that this is what it will look like soon…….
Still lots to do. Am trying to get rid of 1,000’s of wild strawberries, they have taken over most of my flower beds!
The lawn could do with a tidy up too!!
Am so looking forward to seeing this….
and this…..
and please, no more of these puppies!!! This was Indi at 3 months a few days before she went to her new home
and this was all of them!!!
I just know that I will see some of these….I have eggs shells at the ready!!
Alliums are showing now, here is my favourite photo taken last year when Sluggypup was a baby!
And trolling through my pics I have found that pink Knautia, hope it has babies this year. It almost looks white her but it’s a very pale pink.
So many wonderful flowers ready to bloom, I can’t wait! I have put a very summery picture on my computer screen to remind me of whats to come, soon!
Happy gardening everyone!

I will seize the opportunity Yorkie! Think I seized up hours ago. I don't know, have a hot bath, with salts and still stiff next day. me thinks it's an old wives tale!! I will just have to hobble around Ludlow tomorrow!!
2 Mar, 2011
oh the puppies......xxxx and cutie sluggie and millie.....
thanks Lulu.....now I hope you've had a lovely soak xxx
2 Mar, 2011
I have Pam or else Mrs Yorkshire would get very cross with me! Sluggy was trying to eat the bubbles!
2 Mar, 2011
Well done on getting down & dirty, so to speak, Lulu! I love that blue Salvia, looks like one I planted last year, 'Oceana Blue' no sign of it yet.
2 Mar, 2011
I bet mine has died :0(
I collected the seeds, must, must plant them up! I think they are the most wonderful colour. Why are the hardiest salvias the least pretty?
2 Mar, 2011
no idea Lulu.... is that a walled garden, because we're so open here it makes me long for a real walled garden.. sigh..
2 Mar, 2011
The walled garden belongs to 'The Big House'!! My garden is ever so exposed and the pretty blue salvias never seems to last from one year to the next :0(
2 Mar, 2011
Love the blog, well done on making a start I keep looking at mine and thinking I should make a start, but it has been so cold here.
2 Mar, 2011
Pretty cold here too Teds but the sun did come out mid afternoon. I just have to do it pretty soon before all the other folk with gardens need my help!
2 Mar, 2011
Know how you feel, i've been in my garden this last few days and my back as been playing up. lovely big garden you have.
2 Mar, 2011
It looks great and all will come up well - we bought some Asters Norman jubilee today and there is a strawberry tree too we will buy :) I like how you have done your garden plus you have a lot of plants I do :D
2 Mar, 2011
It's huge Clarice, wish it was really mine. i just can't help myself making it into a nice garden, there was nothing here when we came. i just hope my husband wants to keep this job FOR EVER!!!
2 Mar, 2011
Lovely blog Lulu...what a lot of room you have. I would need to be a millionaire ....so many planting opportunities!! lol!
2 Mar, 2011
Lulu....I'll twin with you and the bad back! I guess we just have to be thankful we can still get out and make a start on our gardens eh? :) Hope the bath & wine will go some way to making you feel more comfy.
Do you get a yield from the wild strawberries...it seems they are thugs in your garden?
Your last pup at 3 months was sure getting big!! I can imagine it will have been rather chaotic with them all romping around before finding new homes. So cute though when tiny puppies :)
2 Mar, 2011
With a couple of thousand wild strawberry plants, they yeied quite a few kilos a year!! Want some!!
Am dividing plants now Karen as it's not really my garden.......but I am very proud as there was nothing when we arrived and I just can't help but make a garden as I have done every house I have ever lived in!
2 Mar, 2011
Wow....strawberry overload, Lulu :) Lots of kilos/year!! I hope you can tame them without too much back trouble.
You are developing "your" garden nicely so I hope you are able to stay there for many more years...it must be hard to leave it behind when you have to move on.

I hope your back is better now. There's a lot to look forward to in the coming seasons. I hope we get nicer weather than last year.
I hate those creeping strawberries. They are such a niusance.
Good luck with your flower bed :o)
3 Mar, 2011
Glad I did this yesterday, all frosty this morning!
Not quite as stiff as I thought I'd be thanks to Yorkshire forcing me into a nice hot bath!
Only a few hundred naughty creeping wild strawberries to go now!
3 Mar, 2011
We have a bit of frost aswell. Not much though, just enough to make me feel annoyed with it lol
Glad you' re not as bad as you thought. That bath must have done you good. I find lavender essential oil works wonders in the bath after doing something strenuous.
3 Mar, 2011
Lavender.... :0)
3 Mar, 2011
Great blog, hope your back has recovered! Love the cute puppy pictures too!
3 Mar, 2011

lol Sanbaz, Millie was marking her territory! Back is fine thanks, it is easy to overdo it, after all, we are not 21 anymore! But after Mrs Yorkshire told me off and sent me to my bath, back is fine!!
As for puppies, Sluggy is huge!! This time 13 months ago, she was the size of her ear!
3 Mar, 2011
Great blog Lulu! Lovely garden too! What a lot of hard work you've put into it, you must be very pleased with the result. The Rose is such a pretty colour. I've never seen Knautia that colour before, very different from the others. I know what your backache feels like. Ouch!
3 Mar, 2011
If you want any seedling from Knautia Macedonia I can send you 2 or 3!!!
3 Mar, 2011
That certainly is a long border, Lulu, I don't think I would want to tackle that now! Love the photos of Milliepuss and Sluggypup :)
4 Mar, 2011

Nice blog Lulu. Dont do too much too soon, or your back will give you lots of trouble. Your lawn is huge, must take ages to mow it.
