Long shadows with the late afternoon sun in october.

It is a special time for the light, a beautiful gentle light. It will be a long time before the tulips, but it will be a fun time, planning ahead for next year. New bulb and seed ideas, making lists of what worked best, lasted longest flower wise, asking friends and family for 'garden' presents for Christmas......all helps to keep enjoying every day, short or long, dark or light!

I get very sentimental about Michaelmas Daisies dont
remember why. Must be something connected with my childhood. Its the same every autumn.

Some of today's varieties are a great improvement on the ones I remember from my childhood (bought myself another one yesterday...) but you're right Diane they don't have the same childhood memories!

Still a lot to see and admire in your garden and the roses are still putting up a good show. We have had a couple of frosty mornings so I`m thinking its time to take in the Canna I grew for the first time this year, hope I can keep them in the leanto of the house over winter.
