We wait all year for our prized blooms to show, and this is one of mine….. This is day 1…..

Ray took this just to show the size of my Brug’ We have this just by the back door, and the perfume in the evening is unbelievable…….Well worth the yearly wait…..

Beautiful color! I remember the first time my white one bloomed, I didnt know what to expect as I had no idea what it looked like my neighbour just told me they were called angel wings. When they first got buds I waited for them to open but then THAT started to grow something from the bottom & then finally the flower!
Yours look almost like a 'double' flower, esp the one in your hand.

Hi Milky, do you keep your inside at all times.
Both mine are outside,and it's my first year of growing when is the best time to bring them in for the winter, do i need to cut them down in any way.
I will be putting them in a small greenhouse to over winter them.
Thanks for any advice.

c\rweisel, this is outside at the moment, well sort of its under our lean~to. It will be cut down and put in my greenhouse for the winter, probably end of September /early October before the nights get really chilly. Good Luck with yours....

Thanks for the advices ,about my (Devils Trumpets) Datura. I bid not know that Datura are a different Genus. To( Angels Trumpets) Brugmansia. A old friend, told me that he a read it some were, Datura point up From Hell, and Brugmansia point down from Heaven.How far do cut it down . Thank you ever so much for the advices.

Catweisel...I usually cat mine back as far as I can, Like you would anything else, above a joint, so that its ready to sprout again next season.....Do it about an inch above the joint as the stems are so fat that they sink intio themselves a little, so allow for that. Hope this helps...

Ha ...Thanks Breda.....Its as tall this year but as yet I havent any flower buds on it...They prefer the cooler weather to bloom....so hopefully soon....lol

These are fantastic, to have perfume too is every gardeners dream come true. No doubt part of the joy is in the anticipation.
