Waiting for flowers.........

In the Spring, my friend gave me a singular seed to sow……I cant remember the name of it, but it gets the most beautiful flowers. she says…. The seed was black, shiny and about 1/4 inch in diameter. I sowed it in March and waited. ………..and this is the result………….
Ha…..now……Im no professional, but this looks remarkable like some sort of Palm to me, and I have a strange feeling that I shall be waiting a lot of years before I see any flowers on it…..if ever…….

Hah hah Milky...is that a begonia behind it? I thought it was your plant's flower & was really impressed until you said you'd be waiting for flowers!!!
Perhaps they will be as as stunning a colour as that red!;0)

Certainly looks like a palm. You have done well to get it growing so quickly. Be interesting to see how it develops.

Thanks all.....But I will give up on the flowers ha ha .....just raise it as a palm.....whichever one it is I may never know.......
