I've been DIY ing again....

My daughter had an assortment of wood left over from a decking kit and was going to take it to the tip. Well me being me I can’t see anything that could be of use being skipped so I said I would have it ! I had this idea to make a screen around my 30yr old dustbin that I use for planting bulbs etc in. I had cut a piece of chicken wire the size of the bin with the idea of wiring the wood to it.
Today (Thurs )I decided to have a go at it so I finished sawing the pieces of wood to the right length, then I drilled holes top and bottom of each one ( about 40 in all ) and laid the wire out then started to wire the wood onto it. After doing about 3 of them I decided that staples would probably be a better idea so out came the bike and off into town before the shops closed. They were a better idea and before long they were all attached. Now to wrap it around the bin and wire it together. I didn’t really want the wood to touch the ground as the bin leaks water around the base so on with the thinking cap again …. eureka ! black tubing left over from the water butt ( see told you I keep things ‘just in case ’) so I cut a length and wired it together , now the wood sits nicely on top of it. Job done and I’m really chuffed with the result.

That is what can happen if you keep any old bits and pieces, there is always something that you can use it on in time and save yourself a lot of unnessary expense.
Well done nanjo

Thank you all for the lovely comments, I must admit I'm really proud of it, it turned out much better than I had hoped. I was fed up with looking at the dustbin every morning from my kitchen window, now it's a pleasure.Just working on my next project :-)
