Late Cosmos and other flowers against the odds

I was rather late planting my Cosmos seeds this year I planted them on into pots and at last they are in flower, though they are not as tall as usual, they are mixed colours this lovely white one by the front door
together with a deep pink one
Here is my lovely Astrantia still flowering which arrived safely from Ireland – a present from Moti
Lychnis just keeps on flowering despite been flattened by rain I love this bright cerise pink
The rain really battered my Great Expectation Rose too so I cut it right back and in no time at all this lovely rosebud is out for a second show
Isn’t nature wonderful Sow your seeds late, post flowers across the miles, batter them with rain cut them right back and still they flower as beautiful as ever :o)

A lovely lot of colour in your garden,.
And I agree with Diane you have got it just right this year with the shorter stems and later flowering cosmos to enjoy........
I tend to go for shorter flowers,. we're not supposed to get northeasterlies in the summer but noone told the weather.......

A lovely display,Neellan..I've never tried Cosmos in a pot,but they are my favourite summer plants, and I grow them every year,in my long border..most are about four feet tall ! ..Your Rose is beautiful, and the name seems perfect for it..I have just had to cut my Lychnis like yours, well back now,but it's growing again..:o)
