A Sunny Day in my Daughter's Garden

A sunny Autumn morning so what better than a stroll in the garden, first of all on the drive are the old sinks she planted up earlier and a pot of Sedum to complete the picture
and a close up do you see the dew drop in the centre?
Dainty Erigeron in the large wooden tub
A pink rose we can’t remember the name of but a lovely perfume just the same
A spider in his shining web among the Ferns and Penstemon leaves
An Artichoke looking browned off – what on such a nice day!!
These ladies were enjoying the sunshine too!
I thought I’d share my quick squiz round with you!

Thank you Pam the sinks are looking lovely just now, The
Erigerons are a favorite I'd kept a look out for some for her as they are not so plentiful, the hens were basking in the warm soil until I decided to take a snap :)
Thank you for liking Klahanie and TT :)

I to like the trough plantings but then I would.
I do however find it difficult to grow semps and sedums outside in our winter wet.

Thank you Bjs the troughs are outside year round against the side wall of the house and have survived at least one winter maybe two I don't remember when they were planted up! :)

Thank you Bloomer glad you enjoyed the quick trip around the garden her troughs seem to be at their best just now, just lovely to pick out a few things with my camera in the sunshine :)

The troughs are just about the most artistically arranged ones I can remember seeing - not a big fan of trough gardens generally but these are great.
Its nice to see the free range chickens - hope there are no foxes around! They must cut down the weeding too.

Thank you Steragram my daughter will be thrilled to read your kind comments, the chickens have a lovely wooden home and run but they are allowed freedom of the garden quite often :)

I love your daughter's garden and think she has had such great ideas for successful planting. The pink rose is identical to the pink rose we have and we don't have its name either!
I must get some erigerons as I think they are so very pretty.

Thank you Wildrose she will be pleased to read all your nice comments, the rose has such a lovely perfume, the Erigerons look so good for so long I'm sure you will love them :)

There must be some way of covering trough gardens in the winter months to help them survive the cold and wet.
They are too heavy to lift. I cover my hardy plants bed with
Fleece.

Thank you for that tip Diane I'm sure the gardeners with troughs will find it useful :)

I love the sedums, the colours and shapes are so interesting
those little Erigeron are quite common in the south I think snd everywhere in Guernsey, I do't see them in the midlands, they mudt like the warmth!
