Apple Blossom in My Garden

Living in Kent and surrounded by apple and pear orchards, I thought I’d share a piccie or two of our elderly Cooking Apple tree. Not at all sure of the variety… I just love the apple blossom, and it was such a fabulous day to take photographs… The sky made a wonderful crisp blue backdrop :o)

Every year OH and agree that the tree needs to be pruned hard… As you can see by the number of crossing branches, we forgot again. Tut… tut…! But even so it rewards us each year, with a huge harvest of lovely cooking apples :o)

I love the colours of the buds… A dusky pink, while they are tight fat buds, and then they open up and fade to a pale pinky white :o)

Lovely, ours is just beginning to open, I checked the plum tree today as it was an absolute picture a couple of weeks back, the frost hasn't hit it so should be a good fruiting year......

Glad to hear that yours is looking good Linclass, and the plum tree too... We have orchards close by and we always promise ourseleves to go for a walk, with a camera to photograph the Pear blossom. The pear Orchard has a fab view of Canterbury Cathedral in the near distance. Have been away for a couple of days and may have missed the blossom yet again... :o( Need to be in the right place at the right time!
