Lovely photo of butterfly on a particularly beautiful Eryngium. Not being cocky, just bought one but it's nowhere near as blue as this one, lol.

Oh thanks Wagger....that's right Eryngium.....theyre not round like the Echinops..these are similar to a teasel.....:o)

I have seen a lot more Butterflies in our garden this year - when I go to get my camera they have gone!!!

What a stunning pic, Janey...like most folk I am usually too slow with my camera...but agree there seem to be many more moths and butterflies around this year. It will be interesting to see what the Butterfly Conservation have to say at the end of the summer and if they agree with us all.

They are pretty aren't they B_lourenco........I remember Flowercrazy saying these were opposites on the colour wheel, so contrast and complement each other....:o)

Hi Janey - I've got quite a lot of flutterbys too this year :-) I think that plant is Erygium planum - mine attracts the flutterbys too...

Thans Dd......I'm going to try this plant next year, I took this pic at a country park near us, the Eryngium was about 8ft tall...with lots of Commas enjoying it....:o)
