Are they on the decline or do they not like the things you grow? (we do)

Thanks a million everyone. You guys are just too kind !
Bjs, the Monarch butterfly has changed it's migratory route, due to land development and the lack of their host plant and habitat. The State has started planting back more of their host plants in the medians of our four lane highways, but I'm wondering about the intellegence in that...lol. There is going to be a lot of butterflies glued to passerbys windshields now it it draws them back ! I don't know if that was such a good idea or not.

Aye Lori totally agree keep telling Flower how great her pics are as do many others but she cant seem to get it .. so think I ll try some reverse psychology here , this pic out of focus what is it ? come on sure you can do better ..think that ll work? Lol
27 Aug, 2009

27 Aug, 2009
What a wonderful photo - I'm jealous. When I tried to photograph a butterfly, it flew off before I could get near enough. Congratulations

Lucky you - never seen one in the flesh, so to speak. Beautiful

hahaha ...reverse psychology... yeah..it stinks... nah! I can't lie to my friend... I guess we should be thankful that she's so level headed, Bonkers... all our praise might have gone to her head and she wouldn't be bothered with us lesser mortals!

;-)....I' m treated as if I'm barely worth more than dirt at home, so I've a long way to go before I can become immortal....lol (just kidding) They'd starve to death if I weren't around !

Flcrazy...
have your butterflies in North Carolina disappeared for the same reasons as in the UK ?
22 Jan, 2010
You know I was Gg....lol
Tt, our primary culprit of butterfly decline is man. Their host plants have been destroyed for the sake of progress. I'm not sure of the reason of decline in UK, but I would love to know.
I do think I remember reading something about record rainfall being a cause, being butterflies can't fly in the rain, so they are starving for food and aren't able to find mates to reproduce. Does this sound accurate or is there more to the story TT ?
