Certainly living up to his name, this beautiful red Dragonfly was darting from mossy rock to mossy rock......eventually he settled and decided to have his photo taken.....:o)

Excellent Janey, I saw two at the local Reservoir a couple of weeks ago, but they seemed to have sort of green/blue iridescent wings. This is a brilliant shot, better than some in the books you buy.

Thanks Pam and Eileen.......the greenyblue ones are a different type Pam very beautiful....my favourites and they are usually really large, like small helicopters...Lol!

Marvellous photo you must have a good camera lens Janey. Dragoflies are hard to take photos of because they don't usually settle for long.

I think he wanted to sunbathe Linda.....and after a few darts around, settled for the pic. I trimmed it later before posting, it's a smashing Leica lens.

I can't get really good close ups with my camera as it's getting on a bit now but it still takes a good picture.

Great photo - we had some in the garden this year but despite running around trying to photo them, they didn't stay still long enough - pretty to see though
