Lovely natural setting for the sparrowhawk. We get them here catching the small birds but we live right next to the fields.

Yes, they tend to concentrate on the bigger meals like the collared doves when they visit my garden!

Yes, you very often see the feathers where the Sparrow hawk has sat and plucked it. I've twice had the situation where we've heard a huge bang and then realised it was something hitting the window. When I investigated, on both occassions there was a very clear mark on the window of a wing, presumably the dove trying to get away. Not seen himm for a while though!

come to think ,few weeks ago seen a lot of feathers on the front lawn ,looked like a carcase of a dove or pigeon, very well plucked.I thought a cat got hold of the bird..well well you learn every day on GOY

It's one of those things that other people have told me about when I'd seen all the feathers Deida, but since I've lived at this house I've noticed it for myself!

Well captured Deida....the birds of prey are so sharp eyed it is a job to capture them.
