High Noon Over the Garden

High Noon Over the Garden

The sun shines like sunset on the southfacing hillsides across the way. This is the color of the light all across the hills thru all 3 1/2 hrs we get a day. Might be a long dark, but the colors are beautiful.

Thanks to you all and Happy Holidays. I do love the winter light, though I do wish the cabin was on that hillside sometimes.....lol. I'm counting the days to solstice and the turn around. The light comes back so quickly, once the hump day has passed.

Thank you Gee and Deida for the well wishing and I hope your holidays are wonderful. And thank you as well Janey, I'm shrugging off the dark like water under the bridge, thanks for the encouragement. Hapapy Holidays! :-)

Great photo of the sunny hills, GT! Like you I'd want my cabin to be in "them thar hills!" LOL! :-D

Not that I'm complaining about where we live because we get the sun come in on three sides of our flat! When the sun rises it pours in through our bedroom windows then, as the day wears on it swings around to come in through our living room windows, where the balcony is. Then in the evening as it is going down it enters in through a small window we have over our kitchen sink. The sunlight that comes in through that window will also go into our living room for a few weeks in late autumn. On the same side of the flat as the bedrooms there is another small window in our living room & that gets the early morning sun & in late autumn the sunlight can almost reach the kitchen!

We are having some very cold weather here this week & our view of the snow is almost like yours - just substitute the trees for houses & flatten out the hills! LOL! :-D

Hope you have an enjoyable Christmas & the New Year 2010 is kind to you.

Thanks Fractal. It looks like christmas around here for about four months. :-) Thus our little town of North Pole where we have the Santa Claus House. :-)

Thanks Balcony. Wonderful you get so much sun, a little bright spot in the cold you are receiving. And snow, it must be cold! I do get good light in the house most of the year, right now the sun is always too low to even shine here at all. It just rides the south horizon a few hours and down again. Happy holidays!

Wow! words escape me...beautiful!

Thank you Healerwitch. With only a few hours of sunlight and a low angle during that, the colors of winter on the white snow here are really something else. One of the natural magics of the arctic. I did take a bunch that I'll try to post today. I love it.
