The wet season downunder: Standing on the verandah is like standing behind a waterall.

Sandra ... the plants are in heaven ... you can hear them singing like angels!
Thanks AA. It's very refreshing standing out on the verandah in this ... you get a little shower all over!

Not nice at all Carol! It's such a heavy downpour that the water soaks straight through my umbrella!
Thanks Yorkshire.
Sueb ... we have a corrugated tin roof on this house and when it's pouring it's hard to hear anything else! Maybe not such a bad thing ... but it does go on and on and on!
Milky ... I don't mind the heavy rain except for that fact that I can't get out in the garden and it's misery getting to work from here - I have to drive through a lot of water that's over the roads at the moment.

Wonderful ! I love the rain. I wish it would rain here. We haven't had our usual 'proper' rain for ages. :o(((

We've had such rain Hywel ... you'd be in heaven! Just today we've had around 75mm!

It rained properly yesterday , and I am feeling better and healthier than I have done since before Christmas. I don't need sunshine but I do need warmth. Cold weather depresses me even if the sun is shining. I love your rain photo and it has gone on my fav list :o)))))

Thanks Hywel and Homebird ... I too love the rain, just not the torrential rain that goes on for days at a time ... it turns the yard and gardens to mush and it's hard getting to and from work! Any other sort of rain ... I'm in heaven!

Thankfully the torrential rain only lasted for two days and the floodwater receded pretty quickly ... our town council has over the last two decades done a great job of planning for floods and they have created great drainways and all our roads are designed for water run-off. Eventually we get a bit cluey about how to cope with a real 'wet' when we do have one. The rain continued on for the rest of the week but it was easy enough to live with ... it's the humidity that comes afterwards that is not so easy to live with and that's what we're coping with this week.

Lol ... we don't actually have air-conditioning in our bedroom Homebird - hubbie hates it! But he did put in air-con in our living areas a couple of years ago and one of the smaller bedrooms has an air-conditioner ... guess where I've been sleeping for most of the last week and a bit!!! And I might add ... hubbie has been in there as well!

wow, I bet it's a lot nicer to see at a distance, though - probably a couple of thousand miles!
did you put dishes etc along the edge of the veranda to get musical rain?
we used to live in a Nissen hut, cprrugated iron roof - we heard the rain before we saw it, and boy did we hear it at times!
