Louise this one for the last 2days as only been in my pots , where there are pansies, and like you say it is quite a round little bird looking at it looks a bit chubby for its size. So like you said and yesterday i was told it may be a wren aswell.

It does look quite rounded so i'd think it's a Wren :-)

Found a picture of a wren and although the picture is small, reading about it they like going round rockery's and under shrubs, and this one really roots in the pot all round the little plants, i'm going to put some mealworms in a pot tomorrow when the starlings have been and gone, and see if it will come abit closer to house.

I had one/some visit the back garden last winter, they were always darting in and out of the evergreen shrubs aswell as the trellis fence ..... after insects etc !
I saw one in the Rowan tree opposite the front garden recently .... not seen him/her in there before !

Yes you re both right that stubby little tail the giveaway. We do the same Clarice and cover the mealworms lightly with compost as wrens like to dig them out and puts the starlings and ( most of the ) blackbirds off.. theres always one thats too cute to be fooled .

It's a little wren Clarice we have had one using the bluetit box at night. They go in and out of the pots and in all the corners. I have seen them searching in the corners of the fences, think they look for small spiders etc.

Could be a Wren, especially if it's quite a small 'rounded' looking bird.
Could be a Dunnock, if it has grey around its neck and a speckled brown back.
The Dunnocks in my garden spend most the time ferreting around in the herbaceous borders, i put Bill Oddies 'muesli' under the bushes and hedge in that area, they're sometimes in the tree opposite but mostly they're ground feeders.
