Yes, it is difficult constantly assessing an elderly pet...
...trying to decide how much quality of life they have.
You know Smokey so well, that you have a great understanding of his thoughts and feelings. xxx

Megan you know i'm always making a fuss of him and he is on my knee alot of the time, he finds it hard to get cumfy, i think no i know he as lost some weight since he was at vets 3wks ago, and to stroke him all i can feel is bones.

Ah...poor little love....he's such a bonny puss....

poor smokey carol, bet it felt nice to smell the fresh air though :o)

Poor Smokey, he does look tired, bless him. He is a beautiful boy though and he must have loved the sun on his back. :o)

Thanks everyone, i will let all of you know how he gets on at vets, got my fingers crossed hoping he comes back home with me, but also i know not to get to high hopes for him xx.

Hope the vets visit went allright. Nice to have the weather a bit warmer, Twinkle keeps wanting to go out now.

Smokey reminds me of our lovely old Giove towards the end - he'd had a good life and died very very peacefully in my son's arms. He knows you love him and this will help you cope with whatever happens Clarice -

oh i know how you feel this is just how our old cat Socks went, he lost weight then he started drinking a lot and always hungry, came home one day to find he'd died whilst i was out at work, had been to the vets the day before he gave him some tablets but poor old Socks was 17 and had had enough i think, still miss him.

Smokey will be 18 next month, your Socks and Smokey do seem very much the same symtons dont they, he as just started eating again as he was of his food for a while.
