Treasure Chest in "new colours"!

Treasure Chest in "new colours"!

Painted the metal chest, which was orange and gold, with black and copper (tried gold, but didn't look as good.) When this is planted up, the lid will be raised and not visible, so the black will help offset the planting (I hope!) :-)

Thank You!

I think the black is more in keeping with the theme, and am now thinking that a sprinkling of playsand, rather than a whole "beach-load" might be better, coz I rather like the pebbles, too! :-))

Have more treasures to include. GOYer Marie (Madperth) also gave us strings o' "pearls", "rubies" and other jewels to drape around plants, etc., which might add "atmospehere" to this area. :-))

That is fantastic! What will you be planting in the chest?

Sounds like a winning plan, David. Hope it all works as you've pictured it.

Great artwork David....sorry Captain!!! Better to used stone for the beach as the local cats usually favour sand....say no more....

Glad that you like the new colours, too, Thank You.

Not sure yet what will be planted in it, Lori, but will probably be annuals, including lobelia "String of Pearls", Nasturtium "Jewels" and Bidens "Piartes' Treasure".

Was thinking about cats, Linda. Since part of the neighbours' fence blew down, I see more cats wandering through. If anything, there will just be a "dusting" of sand. :-)

When I planned the small garden in the fron I chose to use beach pebbles rather than shingle for that reason too David.
