'William Bishop' is the correct new name for the popular Erodium 'Bishop's Form'. David Victor is the Registrar for the Geraniaceae names and had pointed out that the use of 'Form' is not code accepted for a registered name, and he had wanted to come up with an acceptable name. Alan Robinson did a lot of research on this and discovered that 'Bishop' referred to William Bishop, who introduced this plant in the 1970s in Harrogate, Yorkshire. I know it will be a challenge to convert everyone over to the new name. The full name would be Erodium x variabile 'William Bishop'.
