I have often looked at this rose in garden mags.....Its really lovely...:>)

Do you remember the trouble I had getting a real 'Handel'? The first one I got was wrongly labelled, and turned out all pink. Louise and I took every pot off the shelf to see one with a flower on it this time last year, to get the 'real thing'...and here it is!

No idea - I just like it, Pp! I've planted it by the stream wall, in the hope that it'll grow and 'flop' over the wall....all artistic-like! lol.

I mentioned the old age as I remember it being all the rage, around the 1980s when I first had a patch of grass I turned into a garden"

No I didnt Barbara, I grew Blue Moon and Queen Eliabeths, just remember the name ;0)

We had 'Queen Elizabeth' in our Kent garden...the problem was that there were trees all round the garden, so the roses grew upwards towards the light....they were VERY tall!!! lol.

I know it well ! mine was a tiny little patch of garden And Elizabeth did Queen it over everything lol

Yes - it's 'different', isn't it!

This looks much healthier than mine. I planted it this year on a West facing fence, it has had one flower on it so far shape and same colour as yours but for a climber it seems rather lax.

Strange - mine isn't, well, not at the moment!
