31 Aug, 2011

Well done Sticki.....its very good.......

31 Aug, 2011

oh thank you milky, you are very kind, its not up to lulu's lovely art but i had fun trying!!

31 Aug, 2011

Of course it is. How many of us could we fit into that quite small studio do ya think?

31 Aug, 2011

Actually, probably depends on our waistlines!!

31 Aug, 2011

we would all be muddled up and sticking the wrong colours on the wrong bases!!! have to have a corner of the garden each!!!

31 Aug, 2011

A corner of the garden and a puppy!

1 Sep, 2011

suits me!!!

1 Sep, 2011

Which puppy would you have to help you?!

2 Sep, 2011

now i was hoping you wouldnt ask that ~ cos its so hard to choose, jazzy is lovely ~ so quiet and calm and cuddly and sometimes on her own; sluggy is naughty [but not very naughty and not very often] ~ and i like naughty. pru is a such a good dog i might be a bad influence ~ so its a toss up between jazzy and sluggy ~ think jazzy might win? all gorgeous and so lovely to watch them all together.

2 Sep, 2011

Jazzy says thank you! I won't mention what Sluggy said. Pru, well she's mummy's girl so she doesn't mind!

2 Sep, 2011

did sluggy say something naughty?

2 Sep, 2011

MMMmm, her language is terrible, very growly woofy, barky waggy and sometimes annoying. Took all 3 to the pub for a quick drink and they behaved appallingly, refused to lie down and got all tabgled up with their leads!

2 Sep, 2011

you shouldnt have let them have that extra pint lulu ~ half would have been fine!!

2 Sep, 2011

I will remember that next time, they can have a whole bowl of beer and maybe then...relax!

3 Sep, 2011

Worth a try!

3 Sep, 2011

that is incredible!

4 Sep, 2011

great fun to do Rk!

4 Sep, 2011

well done it looks great

4 Sep, 2011

thank you! I know it isnt perfect and its not up to Lulu's standard but i like it! [im not very good at being objective tho!!]

4 Sep, 2011

Looks good to me... : O ))

4 Sep, 2011

Lulu is an excellent teacher, she is very patient too.

4 Sep, 2011

: O ))

Sticki - you should be really proud of your mosaic . . . it's amazing. And it's your First!!

5 Sep, 2011

yes, first! it was fun ~ very relaxing to be absorbed in.

5 Sep, 2011

Will you try it again, at home?!

5 Sep, 2011

at some point i hope to but i have to get a few necessary resources first!!

5 Sep, 2011

Sticki our GC puts all it's broken pots into a crate and folk help themselves. In fact we used loads for hardcore last week.

Like the mosaic, nice colours.

6 Sep, 2011

thanks grannyb ~ thats a helpful GC ~ good idea ~ we also have a stained glass place near here ~ im wondering what they do with the bits they dont want??

6 Sep, 2011

They sell it per kilo!!

6 Sep, 2011

very expensive??

6 Sep, 2011

You can only ask Sticki.

6 Sep, 2011

I can't remember, you can always ring and ask! I had better get there before you lol!!

6 Sep, 2011

i shall have a go! one place has stained glass the other ~ 2 doors down blows the glass but i imagine they would have more curved glass.

6 Sep, 2011

Ah, but then you could have a three d effect with blown glass. Using plain or pale glass with a different colour or pebble below the surface.

have you seen the new three d bookmarks for sale in the GC? very disorientating.

6 Sep, 2011

oh yes, i have seen those ~ i think, also in book shops;

thats quite an idea to have more than one layer of pebbles ~ i think you should be having a go granny b.

6 Sep, 2011

Lovely Sticky , love the colours

6 Sep, 2011

With layering you have to be careful that the glue doesn't show as glass and stone doesn't absorb the glue!!
Layering can only be done with opaque!!!

6 Sep, 2011

I saw an article in 'Amateur Gardening Weekly' about 3 weeks ago on how to make mosaic stepping stones for your pathways and lawns. Did think I might try that in between taking up painting, baking, gardening walking the dog and saying hello to OH. LOL.

Who said retirement is boring, I don't have enough hours in the day.

Oh and Dagenham (Little Pot) fame is trying to get me to join the local council committee. Now that's one I shall give a miss.

6 Sep, 2011

A lady in a tile warehouse shop told me they throw away loads of broken and damaged tiles and I bet they would be only too happy for you to take some. She said she offered them to a local school, but they weren't interested. Got to be worth an ask I would think. Well done by the way, it's amazing how pretty random shapes can look isn't it, especially when arranged by a good eye. Expecting larger works of art in the future...you could stick the broken pieces on pots and have lovely mosaic pots...you could make some for me lol:-)))

10 Sep, 2011

Grannyb those stepping stones sound lovely, I have seen similar, if you do have a go - let us know!

I thought pots would look nice BA, I shall have a go at some point and let you know!
Broken tiles would be good I think - there are some very attractive ones.

10 Sep, 2011

Love it ! Like the choice of colours and the flowing design, well done!

20 Sep, 2011

thank you, i think they are my favourite colours
