Just hanging about...

Lucky you, I love butterfly farms, but none of the rest of my family do and they freak out my son very much! Mind you, he is also terrified of big birds, ever since he was a wee toddler he's been frightened of parrots etc.! He's almost 20 now and still doesn't like em!

lepidoptera, always fascinating. Took my visiting family to our local butterfly park this summer, actually got a half decent shot of morpho, the electric blue butterfly that never ever seems to settle. Its the tropical planting that makes for a pleasant environment for us garden buffs also isnt it! Did your lens steam-up Sticki ?

I love butterfly farms too. I used to go regularly to Syon Parks butterfly house in Twickenham. Hot and steamy a welcome respite to outside grey and damp! I used to take my charge Lily, then 2 now 19! and all she was interested in was playing with, was the gravel!!

yes bampy ~ took ages to wipe off the steam ~ i was feeling rather warm too!!!
i spent a while taking pictures of the plants and the butterflies!!
there were a couple of bright blue ones, constantly on the flutter!! one was quite large and seemed heavier ~ it sort of floated in a heavy way!!!!

That is a stunning photo.....would make an ideal poster...boxed canvas etc.

you've inspired me to photo-blog my visit this summer to the butterfly park Sticki, to be sure it would be a beauty & the beast blog! Off to Cambridge today (violin & cello making class) so will sort photos in a day or two.
