oh, nice. Are they still in their pots? if so, you can move 'em around and see what various layouts look like - and of course as the plants grow you can move 'em further aprt and in bigger bots.

they are still in the pots fran. i wanted a little path thru it but i havent got that worked out yet.

lol you can have a whole landscape! paths, tiny stream or pond, maybe a rock "cliff" - it's endless!

when I got a "proper" garden, my thought was to have a miniature "map" - a mini garden mirroring the large one, as near as possible bush for bush, ;feature for feature - plating something in the carden would also mean plancint someithing in the "map" - and one could use the map to work out the planting arrangement in a full size garden - much easier to move them around, and to get an overview!

hmm, don't know if a miniature map of what is in itself basically a mini garden would work...

Go for it , Stickie , looks good and it will keep you out of mischief until you can get out in the garden proper . I'm really missing growing and planting at the moment --- roll on Spring .

thats a very nice idea fran, for mine to be accurate i would have to put the model on a slope and create very large trees at the back.

smiles, why not?? so long as it's more or less to scale. *s* cut up an old CD and use the mirrored side for a magic mirror mosaic path!

there's a website called Two Green Thumbs: they do truly, mind-bogglingly tiny gardens, with specialised plants and "garden accessories" a quarter of an inch high! some of their accessories are miniature mosaic tiles, which is why I mention them - not to mention special cement for it! Not advertising the opposition, they're strictly ultra-mini

Got my laptop connected to the tv sticky & this picture looks great on telly very nice.

Now that's a good idea kev, I haven't worked out how to do that yet!

Its just a lead from laptop to tv sticky,had to adjust screen res on laptop a little but its great the pictures on here are brilliant.

do you think i should try to get a bigger tray so all the plants can go in, two are in separate pots currently at the side.

size of tray really depends on how much room you have: two smaller trays might be more adaptable than one big one - you could have them side by side or end-on, or have one behind the other, raised a bit, to give a stepped effect.

I bought cat litter trays from my local pet shop ages ago: got two different sizes and a few of each, to stand my small plants in - not for a garden effect, just cos it savd on buying lots of different-sized-small plant saucers. I also bought fish-tank gravel to put at the bottom, so they wouldn't be standing in excess water but there'd be moisture there for them to draw on.

*s* pet shops can often help out a gardener

nods, that's the prob, available space. Most windowsills are barealy hand-wide, mine are even narrower, so it's precarious putting stuff on there - besides, when you cloe the curtains you get an air-gap of cold air aournd platns thre. *s* that's why the curtains of my old flat rearely closed - anyway, being on the 7th floor over a the non-balcony wall, hardly likely anyone was oging to be walking past to look in!

Caladium sticki, the one with the lovely long whitish variegated heartshaped leaves. I'm no houseplant expert, (or any other kind of expert for that matter), hope I'm right or I'll feel stupid lol:-))
