Lovely picture DD, the poor birds are relying on us a lot at the moment aren't they,we're still 3-4inches deep in snow, the past 3 afternoons, at exactly the same time, we've had our local kestrel perched on the arbour in our garden looking for his tea, never had him so close before, last night he was on the bird bath eating something!!! looked like a mouse, flippin camera wouldn't zoom in far enough to get a good picture.

I'm amazed that pyracantha still has any berries on it! What a lovely photo, I do love thrushes. We haven't seen one here since the autumn. That corner of your garden looks really lush and summery, even at this time of year DD! Lovely!

Beautiful photo Dd......your Choisya looks very healthy mid winter, I've lost two of these the last couple of years with the cold, along with golden Escallonias. I wonder if there is a hardier evergreen with those beautiful yellow leaves....

That's a lovely photo Dd , they know where to come for a good feed , I wonder if they knew what was coming and saved them for a rainy ( snowy ) day :o)

Thanks TT......Milky I love to see the Thrush in the garden such a welcome visitor.
many thanks Paul and Michaella, Simbad no snow at the mo just freezing cold, although OH thinks it has gone warmer tonight!! I do hope so.
Karen thanks, still a few more berries left, the Choisya is holding up well.
GM it is a thrush had red wings last year, not seen any this time.
Janey that is a pity, I do love these shrubs, the green one suffered a lot last winter more exposed unfortunately, also the gold Escallonia was knocked back but it did recover thank goodness.
San we do try to grow as many berried shrubs as we can just for the birds...
Amy they do, they are very canny....
Sunnyflo they do eat most of the Pyracantha berries more of the red perhaps than the yellow.

Lovely mistle thrush Dotty. We had about 20 redwings visiting last week and the beginning of this and haven't seen them since. They have a splash of red on their chests near the wings

Lindak Redwings always flock together onto a nice bush loaded with berries on their way to somewhere else! They are beautiful arent they? Think they are very shy birds.

WE stood for ages watching them and eventually I went and got the binoculars for a closer look.
