Stunning!

We rather wish this was where we lived, but the practicalities make it very, very difficult in winter. We're better off where we are, and THAT was bad enough.

lovely to visit nevertheless! and thank you for putting the photo on

Thank you all. Yes, I'd mentally promised myself (and all you long-suffering others out there) that I would do any more "Snow sob stories" but this was just so beautiful, I thought you might enjoy it.

We have the real thing we can look at every day, Fran - why bother to paint it? Seriously, though, there is so much we have to do, there's never any time for painting. How ever did we cope before retirement? We are Always SO busy!

15 May, 2012

lol for the same reason we take pictures of things outside our front doors! but with art one can put some of onself into it - well, one can with photography, but even more so with art.

But you were saying a while ago that you didn't feel in "paint" mode, so I wondered if "sketch" mode might be a sort of halfway house.

As fore retirement being less busy than work ... I think it's Parkinson's Law that "work expands to fill the time available for it" - if you've got half an hour for a job, that's what it'll take. if you've got all day, that's what it'll take, too. I have to set myself deadlines to get things done - and I've not done any writing for ages, just sort of doen't get round to it.

I've devised a "Mrs Parkinson's law" - "junk expands to fill the space available for it" - whatever size place you live, it'll eventually fill with stuff.

Oh we've got all sorts of laws like that!

15 May, 2012

lol maybe we can get a "GoY book of laws" to raise money for Goy!
