Sorry I don't know very much about them Ojib , a friend gave me some in a packet with the name on last year to plant this year ,they are ' Taylors choice ' , it has Kaufmanniana on the packet I'm not sure if that's any help , the ticket is torn in half so not much to go on !

LOL it is isn't it Carole , it actually has two little dots above the U in 'Gluck ' on the packet showing it's foreign but I don't know how to do that on here , some one might be able to tell me !

ü - this is done by holding down the alt key and pressing 129 on your key pad, Amy :) I like the stipey effect of this but I agree it's a strange name.

Beautiful cluster. Do you cut them or let them die naturally?
3 Apr, 2012
Thank you Sue / Kat I leave them to die naturally I have some others that I cut for the house ..... did you know that if you prick the base of the tulip flower with a needle it will last longer and stand up better in a vase ?

These are pretty Amy, I have some too in a tub, when I bought them the packet showed pink and White striped (maybe it was a faded pic...lol) called Quebec, but they turned out to be these, thanks for the name, must be Dutch musnt it.

The packets do lose there colour Janey , I have a packet that is completely different from the flower ..
The leaves are as attractive as the flowers Marguerite, a bonus .......

Those are cheerful. I see they have the striped leaves like the Little Red Riding Hoods. So are these a species tulip?
