Have you a large brolly?

I keep being told that 'we' need the rain but I personally don't! I have enough, thank you. My front garden is water-logged, my water butts are full and I am tired of digging cloggy mud out of my walking boots. I am looking for a brolly big enough to cover my garden but there are none on ebay :)

Same here - huge puddles in the grass and even in the gravel on the drive. And no end in sight ..... Grrrrrr.....

I think you had better make the most of it. The headlines yesterday were all about a drought until Christmas. We have been having new street lighting installed in the village and we had light up today. Then two chaps with a cherry picker were getting blown around in the cherry picker cradle, at the top of the old electricity poles, removing all the old lights.

We have rain here today, not done bad for a few days with no rain, but the heavens have opened today.

Very wet here this morning, in Derbyshire, but easing off a bit now this afternoon and the birds are still singing. The squirrel is digging up the soil everywhere recovering his cache from the winter and sitting there eating all the nuts. Good job Gerry hasn't planted the beans yet.....

We were going away for the next few days but have cancelled it due to the weather we would rather save it for a nicer week , our water barrels are over-flowing our garden flooded but we are happy it's been so long since we had any rain you can almost hear the plants sighing with relief ......

I am sorry to hear of all your weather woes. We have had another decent day but icy cold today. I got a lot done in the garden and hope it stays dry for the next few days so I can get work done that should have been done weeks ago. I still have to cut the red hot pokers out of their winter wrapping and get rid of excess foliage so we can enjoy the pokers when they open in May.

Glad you had a good day, Scotsgran. I'm sure things will improve for us all soon. Like Homebird, all my butts and buckets are full, the lawns are soggy but the garden has been a foot deep in water in previous years and I have been amazed how many plants survive it. We even had a little sunshine this afternoon :)

I would not like to see my garden a foot deep in water. Its so destructive and once you get flooding there are all the complications of drains not being able to carry foul water away. I hope you all get some sun next weekend for the bank holiday.

Right you are Gee19 :)))) I don't want to come across as moaning, we did need the rain, but ever since the hosepipe ban it has not stopped. Like you.. I have all the water I need now, need to get out there and finish my brick paths. :(( There is no stopping it now for days, no building work can be done here either :(((
