I love it too , it's beautiful .. we have Rose bay willow herb Bg .. no matter how much we pull up it still appears again the next year :o(

At least it's not too hard to pull out, not like dandelions and dock etc..also got lots of buttercups with all this rain and they can be a pain too. Isn't it funny Amy, my plants have had a battering from this awful weather, but my weeds seem to love it lol:-)
30 Jun, 2012
yes my weeds are growing exceptionally well!!
my dad [who didnt know anything about plants] used to say rose bay willow herb was his favourite plant ~ only because he could remember the name of it!!
i throw mine over the fence to the wild area!!

Oooh that's exactly what I'm hoping for in my wildflower patch...isn't it lovely? :)
30 Jun, 2012
Think this is the second or third year for it now.
30 Jun, 2012
..and I bet it's more than a metre square too? lol ;)
30 Jun, 2012
Um yes, didn't measure it but I think it's bigger than my garden (not difficult!)
30 Jun, 2012
...as I thought! lol...why do I attempt such ridiculous projects...but you never know..the plants are growing beautifully with all the rain and one is even flowering!
30 Jun, 2012
Lovely, I was more businesses did this.
30 Jun, 2012
They have lots of land, Karen and Drc, Webbs has been a nursery for years and is now a very large GC, they have riverside gardens and some small show gardens.
30 Jun, 2012
Lovely idea HB, perhaps it will get better?
30 Jun, 2012
I wonder what it depends on? Soil? Seeds? Weather?
30 Jun, 2012
Ah so that's what my wild flower bit at the front is meant to looks like! its so pretty :)
30 Jun, 2012
Such a pretty picture Sticki, love the colour of those poppies. Wish I could get around to a meadow wild flower area...not as simple as it sounds!!
I think Tetbury are preparing their wild flower area again. Looks like all the grass is removed, a quick weed kill and then the sowing of the seeds.
Your photo is stunning.

Is that the pic you showed us last year Lulu?
30 Jun, 2012
It is Pixi...well done for remembering!
30 Jun, 2012
Oh how could I not remeber that it was beautiful! That inspired me to do a wee one here..but its not really working. thosands of seeds ive put it in and only lupins daisies and not sure if they are french mariglods or Rudbeckia. oh a and one Corn cockle!
30 Jun, 2012
Love corncockle,s so pretty. well done for giving it a go. Last year I planted a wild flower mix David brought me, in a big pot so I could keep an eye on them. It worked well.
30 Jun, 2012
I got mine form ALdi 2 packs of them iwith thousands of seeds!
30 Jun, 2012
I will ask how they made this, thank you lulu and pixi
30 Jun, 2012

It's never too late Pixi . . .
Sticki, your avatar is simply beautiful :-)
2 Jul, 2012
oh thank you muddy, its where i would like to be!!!
2 Jul, 2012
That's gorgeous, I adore California poppies, I'm also itching tO yank out the willow herb!!!!
4 Jul, 2012
maybe i should tell the GC about the willow herb??
4 Jul, 2012
Round here it tends to be the smaller GCs which do things like wildflower meadows - well patches. Your picture is lovely. I have loved wildflowers since childhood but find they don't do that well on my clay soil, tho' I do have buttercups and daisies and dandelions, herb Robert and all the usual suspects which all seem to thrive! I keep a nettle patch too for butterflies to lay their eggs but haven't seen any since the Spring really. :( Sad face ? Looks a bit like a frog.
4 Jul, 2012
oh yes, i like that froggy face!!!
4 Jul, 2012
Lovely flowers for the butterflies and bees. Trouble is with the weather I haven't seen many insects in the garden.
8 Jul, 2012
An occasional bee or butterfly when it finally stops raining but otherwise it's just slugs and snails!
The wretched lily beetle still seems to survive though!
8 Jul, 2012
Beekeepers must be having a struggle keeping their bees going this year.
8 Jul, 2012
i would think they are, as if things werent tough enough!
