Beautiful colour

Aren't they wonderful? I saw them in the GC today but I was really good and resisted. I've tried twice in the past and they just died on me, so I'm not bothering again. However, I might be tempted to have one last shot at Hamamellis this year.....eeek!

Thanks Val , shame about your shrub Karen good luck if you buy the Hamamelis I have a new one this year called 'Sandra ' I keep looking to see if it's doing anything ,it's leaves should turn orange /red in the autumn ,I'm still waiting !
Mine could do with a good hard prune Kathy but I always feel to scared to take to much off in case it doesn't like it ........

If I ever feel brave enough to take a lot off I'll let you know the results Kathy ! No Carole the birds leave then alone they obviously don't like them , they have already started gobbling up the Cotoneaster berries .........

Gorgeous colour - never tried these Amy. What is it called & do they want any special sort of soil?

16 Oct, 2012

No, they are absolute survivors. They do not require any special condition, but they do prefer shadow under trees most of all. Am I right Amy?
