I bought this one as well Amy. Thought it was interesting but my DH seems to say it looks "sick".

Thank you all , I love the gingery colour ,it isn't sick Klahanie it has yellow /orange leaves now which will mature to medium green in autumn /winter . The leaves smell of Pineapple when crushed ,it's slow growing but can reach 3 metres high x 1 metre across, I bought it from Sainsbury Homebase G.C ......

Amy there are some beautiful Conifers about this year, I do believe they are making a come back, we grow several in our front garden, but only certain varieties survive the coastal weather.....

So many are being infected by diseases Angela it's such a shame , I often pass a front garden with cypress conifers growing as a hedge they look dead & awful and obviously need pulling out but I expect the owner dosn't know what to replace them with for privacy ... we have a chamaecyparis 'Nana Lutea' which looks perfectly healthy on the outside but if you part the foliage it is brown on the inside ,I'm hoping this winter frosts might kill off whatever it was .......

Oh dear hope ours dont get it, have enough problems with ailments as it is....mind you a lot do go brown inside, naturally, you are expected to don a pair of stout rubber gloves, and rub all the brow away from the branches and from the ground also.I do this every year in the spring.

lovely pic, Amy. When my conifers go this colour it's a sign there's something wrong - so maybe I'd better hold off buying one of these until I get those sorted, or I won't know which ones need extra TLC!

LOL perhaps you are right Fran you could have a problem knowing which is which !
16 Feb, 2013
all mine go this colour Fran - perfectly normal - less sunshine that's all :) always come through

well, mine go brown down one side, and the needles get very dry and brittle; not sure if I'd be able to tell the difference between brown and red, but should be able to tell dry from healthy. it's on my "definitely maybe" list anway
