Taxi?

Taxi?

Seen at the Horniman Museum, London!
Part of a public art installation [part of the Chelsea fringe] set up to highlight the need for bee-friendly planting schemes in urban and rural areas.

now this is a good for the plant car boot sale ; )

4 Jun, 2013

now THAT's a green car!! unusual and eye-catchjng planting - I presume that the itneriors are also well planted?

5 Jun, 2013

nice one stevie! in fact the boot was planted up too!

yes fran there were some plants inside but not so obvious! i think just so they poked out of the window?

5 Jun, 2013

it'd take a pretty specialised plant to appreciate the comparative gloom inside a cae, even with the widnows open!

5 Jun, 2013

Wow!

5 Jun, 2013

:-)) nice idea isnt it!

5 Jun, 2013

Super - should've done that with the old Rover we've just got rid of!

5 Jun, 2013

not always room for something like this in a garden!! but how nice if all the abandoned cars could be 'made over'!!?

5 Jun, 2013

Interesting! Gives a whole new meaning to "car park"!

5 Jun, 2013

Very clever!

5 Jun, 2013

and it's movable LOL

7 Jun, 2013

ha, wouldn't like to see it towed away!

7 Jun, 2013

good point floralhead!

i wouldnt mind if they towed it somewhere that needed cheering up fran!.....so long as im not in the traffic queue behind it!

7 Jun, 2013

lol Sticki - maybe "they" can start projects, delivering old cars to urban areas and supplying items and know-how for locals to have a go at their own.

7 Jun, 2013

Great idea Fran!

Better email 'they.com' ?

7 Jun, 2013

lol Sticki. Maybe locals can just adopt the dumped cars that are there anyway, though I imagine they'd need considerable cleaning up first. still, it'd be one way to recycle old motors

7 Jun, 2013

If they can plant up a taxi like this what would an old bus look like.......I suppose it's a good way of recycling vehicles.

11 Jun, 2013

Great idea Linda.....would like to see a floral bus!......or a blooming bus!

11 Jun, 2013

Just thought that a bus has a walkway and some steps upstairs if it was a double decker. Could be very colourful.

12 Jun, 2013

can just imagine a double decker parked in someon's garden or driveway! there's vertical gardening with a difference - although I wouild imagine that lugging supplises up a twisting staircase would be an Olympic event.

12 Jun, 2013

Iv'e seen it all now a mobile garden.

14 Jul, 2013

do'nt imagine there'd be much room for the driver!

14 Jul, 2013

You could always place a scarecrow in the drivers seat.

15 Jul, 2013

very true linda ~ good idea!

wouldnt mind being driven around on the top deck of the bus ~ nice idea treetop!!

maybe it could be driven by a robot?
