What a pretty mingle Sheila. I have silene, flowers for ages, but have to keep digging out roots too. Still, a welcome plant and very reliable. I believe aquilegias are very promiscuous, so it will be interesting to see if it comes true from seed:-))

I know aquilegias are very promiscuous Bornagain!!
I planted some pink ones years ago and none since, but I still get all sorts self seeding. I have a similar one to Sheilabub's grey-tinge and some very pale bluey lilac ones.
The plants do very well though, mostly coming up year after year.

Shirlwhirl, I bought a couple of beauties from Malvern a few years ago, nowhere to be seen:-( Still I do have some lovely ones..... gifts from the birds no doubt:-))

Goodness, I wonder what had those or what happened to them?

I suppose they could have drowned? it was rather wet last year, though not flooded-(

Btw, I did save seed and it has germinated, so I have a few seedlings growing in the cold frame - hurray :))
