As I was cleaning out the hedgehog homes today, one of them fell apart. No hedgehogs inside though but I moved the wooden hedgehog box over to the veggie plot and the other one went in the bin. At least they have fresh sweet hay to go into if any pass by this way.

the entrance needs to be about 6 x 6 not big enough for cats anyway. An old wooden orange box if you have one will suffice but need a waterproof roof and some ventilation at the back. I place my home for the hogs on bricks to raise it slightly from ground level. it has a flat stone at the entrance to help them step into the box.

When you go to the garden centre Sandra have a close look at the ones that they have for sale. That will help with the sizes.

The hostas have suddenly burst forth and are getting their flower buds forming. Lovely Sandra. I have a few holes in my hostas. Only having one hedgehog left after the bad winter he doesn't seem to be keeping up with eating all the slugs and snails.
