Orb spiders webs

This time of the year the big orb spiders string up huge webs between the fruit trees. Sometimes 4 deep taking one anothers wind so to speak, if you are a sailor.

lovely to see the spiders webs around, and there certainly are plenty of them at the moment. We have several very large spiders that sit in the middle of their webs waiting for something to get caught in them.

Think of how many extra insects there would be if the spiders weren't there to catch them.

At the moment I think they are slowly dispersing about the garden from those groups of minute colourful spiderlings that let out gosamer then walk over it to get to a place to site their first webs. then they grow into the orb spiders.

We seem to have loads of baby spiders about.

Yes Lindak they are all in strands like a necklace and some tiny ones are already in the web business catching their lunches. They will grow round and fat and disappear in the autumn.

Some of our spiders are in the conservatory so I'm being catcher and putting them outside.
