Nuthatch

What a great capture, have never seen one in our garden.

What a little cracker, i am quite jealous, would love to have one coming to our garden but i live in hope..
How often do you see it?

Thank you both. I have seen him flitting about in the trees by the pond before but he has only been visiting the garden for the last 10 days or so - he calls in several times a day mostly during the afternoon :)

How lovely, we get nuthatches feeding on the feeders, one year the adult brought her young along we had four babies lined up on the pergola. They are so elegant aren't they.

That must have been a beatiful sight, Pamd, I will keep my fingers crossed that my visitor likes my garden enough to bring the family along :)

Terrific shot! with the seed in his beak. I have a pair who come to the suet. They skip down the tree head first and gobble the suet and seed! They come with the little chickadees which are similar in colouring but not is form. Happy sounding little birds.

Super photo Gee. On the rare occassion we get a Nuthatch appear in the gardens round here. Same with the Wagtails, they always visit now and again in the WInter months.

He is still visiting, quite a regular now. There were a couple of wagtails in the frosty weather a few weeks back but they seem to have disappeared again now. Any idea where they go, Linda?

Not really Gee, but we do have a river down the road so I reckon that's their domain. I think they come for the mealworms. They are lovely though.
