Lovely photo!

Did you take the photo, Stera?

15 Oct, 2018

Sure did Balcony! They are quite unafraid and allow you to approach quite closely.

Oh, super, haven't seen a puffin since my childhood.

In my favourites, what a good photo!

How lovely! Do you live close enough to visit for the day?

16 Oct, 2018

Yes we do Sheila. When we were on holiday here the year before OH retired we took a look at the coast, decided heaven couldn't be any better and promptly bought a house. We had to let it for 12 months before retirement fell due!
We were staying in an apartment across the road from an estate agents and David spent a lot of time staring into the window and taking me here and there to look at properties!
As we lived in a vicarage we didn't have any worries about selling our house as our own had tenants. It worked out wonderfully.
Did you see the other photo with the bluebells?

Thanks Sue - great story. Now I want to visit your part of the world even more! Where did you live before?

Yes, I love your other photo too :)

Sheila we lived further north before, up in Staffordshire, and I'm originally from south Yorkshire. Seaside was a rare treat then. Until I was about 18 I had never seen a beach without people on it and used to wonder how they took those seaside postcard pictures with nobody around!

Sandra its well worth spending a holiday down here though its a long journey by car. Early May is the best time for the wild flowers - unbelievable on the coast path.

Thanks Sue. I'm originally from Yorkshire too . . . born in Harrogate during the war!

I was in Sheffield during the war. Lots of bomb damage but they mostly hit shops rather than the steelworks they were aiming for...I remember being taken out to the shelter at night when the sirens went.

Just seen this, love it, puffins are so cute aren't they. Love the bluebell picture too.

Lovely photo and scene.
Before buying this land and building our house here, we thought about living near the sea. But our daughter asked us to get closer. I don't regret being here, but I miss the sea. The landscape of your photo is irresistible.

I think Steragram can expect a crowd of GoY visitors next Spring ... it all looks and sounds wonderful!

21 Oct, 2019

I agree 100% Sheila

21 Oct, 2019

Wow that would be wonderful! Just give me some notice so I can get prepared with cake...We are about a half hour drive from Skomer but only 4 miles from the nearest coast. Mid June to mid July is the best time for puffins though you can see them later. September is the time for seal pups and early May for flowers. Take your pick!

Thanks Sue, you have obviously chosen a terrific spot to live: natural attractions at all times of year ๐Ÿ™‚.

22 Oct, 2019

And yet would you believe we don't often go to see it these days - just love pottering around in the garden, enjoying the trees and the clean air. One of the reasons we bought a house a bit inland was so we would never take the sea for granted but somehow knowing its all there waiting for us seems enough! And I think there are more primroses round our village than just on the coast!

Good philosophy ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚.

Super pic. !

Off the beaten track but well worth the effort!

Well, it doesnโ€™t take much to persuade me . . . all Steraโ€™s fault! I have booked a cottage on the coast path for early May, and am looking forward to the wild flowers ๐Ÿ™‚ .
