Saturday morning, January 9th.
Not technically a ‘garden’ picture, but I was ‘in’ the garden at the time.

Thank you Julia, Linda and Paul, much appreciated!
We have a telescope, but, we haven’t had it out this past year. We should really, it’s picking a time when it’s not so cold!

Frozen to the spot, I should imagine! The garden is perishing first thing in the morning. Great snap.

Definitely Ange! I wasn’t outside for too long, that’s for sure! Thank you kindly. ☺️

Hi Kate! Nice capture of the moon. Mine always come out blurred, not sure why, lol. I use a Canon SureShot camera. Here's a little clip about the moon you might find interesting. I did! I love astronomy so feel free to upload all you want. We do have a little wiggle room as per the guidelines.
The amount of moonlight at different times also influences the growth of plants. As the moonlight increases (new moon and second quarter), this stimulates leaf growth. After the full moon, the moonlight decreases, putting energy into the plant roots. At this time, the above-ground leaf growth slows down.

Hi Paul my pictures of the moon are sometimes blurry and Gerry always says you need to put the camera on a tripod or rest it on something, to keep it still and it needs a longer time exposure. Good picture taking.....I didn't know about the moon influencing plants.

I agree, that is a fantastic clear photo Kate.
I remember we had Moongrower on here, she and her hubby grew all veggies and plants by the effects of the moon. Such a shame people come and go...

Where did she go? (Moongrower) and her husband. I enjoyed my banter with her on here. Has anybody heard from her or know how she's doing?
Thanks for the tip Linda. I also need a better camera or better yet a telescope with a built in camera.

Last I heard she and hubby [Bulbaholic] were doing reasonably well and that there had been some ill health but were doing fine now.

Good picture of the moon. It's lovely to see the sky above when it's a clear night. We used to have a telescope and look at the moon, planets and different star systems. It was when we lived on the I.O.Wight and there wasn't the illuminating lights around. It was dark in our back garden then.
