Thank you everyone,it's a firm favourite ,and a Recipe from my Mum's Bero Book,which goes way back,and has Evaporated milk in the Recipe....Amy 2 makes it on a regular basis too..:o)
They still managed a slice,albeit a small one, after Spag Bol, Jelly and Icecream with mini marshmallows,and apparently, a substantial School Dinner at Lunchtime ! Lol.

We took them home later,as Mum was going on a rare night out,and they tried to get me to play on their Nintendo Switch ???? It didn't work ! Alfie, the 6 year old ,put me to shame ..:o))

we make that one too and the runny icing suggested is wonderful. It is Victoria's fav cake to cook. I love the left over evap milk on tinned fruit cocktail. A childhood fav pudding for me.

I'm sure it has always been a favourite of many over the years,Eileen, and we use the left over Evap milk in the same way,or on Jelly .Can't beat the old tried and trusted recipes,can you ? I haven't tried the runny Icing,so will see if it's in my copy of the Bero book,which is almost in tatters from so much use.. I have always used melted Chocolate on mine,thanks for the tip :o)

Balcony, we always use the left over on Tinned Fruit or,and Jelly, I only buy a small one ,so it's nice for a change ..

It is,Ange,and so it brings back so many childhood memories, Sunday tea , was usually the time when we had it in our house :o)

Long gone are the days when Clo and Lex would come for tea after school, so you enjoy every moment. And do you know, I had a Bero book too. I've looked high and low for it, but no, not to be found..:((
I've made chocolate brownies this afternoon (a recipe of Jim's when he was at juniors) and have bought a small tin of evap to make the topping with. I love it too. In fact I'd much sooner have strawberries with evap than cream. Ooh yes tinned fruit with evap, what a treat..Haha. Thanks for the lovely trip down memory lane Sandra xx

Mmmm, I have to look this up in my Bero books. I still have the old brown one…very tatty now. Have you tried whisking evap milk. It’s like angels snow. My kids loved it on tinned fruit or jelly.

I can't find my Bero book Hb, I.know I had one for years. Yes whisking evap makes a great mousse too..:))

Sorry Janey, Somehow ,I missed your last comment,and I'm sure your old Bero book,will turn up in the last place you would expect it to be ! lol..Talking from experience now !.Lol.
