Inspired by our GoY members in Canada ~ and their impressive ability to smile despite the snow and ice. :o)
This map is one of three on my GoY Winter Wellie Olympics Blog [ Blog Number 12 ]

Thanks, TT....
But my sump pump is working overtime today.
The paw prints are a very nice touch. Did Conker and Truffle have anything to do with that?
3 Mar, 2009
I should have put some budgie claw prints on there too. Lol.
And wind arrows for Arlene ~
blowing hot air from west to east into the UK.
3 Mar, 2009
it will take a lot of hot air to warm up jockland just now tt bbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
3 Mar, 2009
I bet it's c-c-c-c-c-c-cold up north, Maccrimmon.
brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !
3 Mar, 2009
Thanks TT. I love it, but as Arlene says; if you can do it for Canada we in the UK expect no less.
3 Mar, 2009
Okay Toto ~
If Truffle will permit, I'll attempt a UK version. :o)
3 Mar, 2009
Thanks TT. I'm sure that Truffle will appreciate a nice warm spring and summer.
3 Mar, 2009
I like the paw prints to , i,m only surprised that it isn,t a bit more chewed in places ... LOL ...
3 Mar, 2009
Truffle chewed in a few extra islands to the West of Greenland. Lol.
3 Mar, 2009
This is great TT. I can feel the warmth already. I especially like the extra large sun over BC. :o)

Terratoonie:
It's only a couple more weeks until Spring...and then Summer is just around the corner!

Hi Delonix1 ~
At least I don't need to make a sunny map for California. Lol.
Hello Gilli ~
Truffle chose that big sunshine especially to warm up the cooler parts of British Columbia.
Is your snow now melting fast ? We hope so. :o)
4 Mar, 2009
I am glad that Truffle managed to spot your deliberate mistake and put in the islands you had left out.
4 Mar, 2009
Being a little puppy, Truffle, deposits a few too many 'islands' Lol.
By the way, UK weather map for March is now on GoY. :o)
4 Mar, 2009
Okay, UK and BC I think I know where all your snow is going. We have a winter storm warning up for tonight. We had a thunder and lightning storm last night about midnight, pouring rain and hail. Yes, really. I'm thinking you may have unbalanced Mother Nature with your maps. Poor thing, she's probably huddling in a snow bank somewhere wondering what happened. LOL
5 Mar, 2009
TT ~ see my latest blog for an update on BC weather. :o)
5 Mar, 2009
Terratoonie:
It guess that's true - No Sunny map for California. This past weekend and Monday we had record high temperatures in many areas. Temps close to 90 degrees F./ 33 degrees C.
5 Mar, 2009
Sounds like California is back to hot, hot, hot !
Gilli ~ I'll check your blog. Thank you. :o)
Weeds ~ Lots of snow in parts of Britain today !
What have I done by disturbing the weather with my maps :o)
5 Mar, 2009
It's supposed to snow two or three inches here today too. Imagine the blizzard we might have gotten if you hadn't drawn your sun map! You may have saved the world! :-)
5 Mar, 2009
But maybe I should have put "HOT" for the Northwestern side of the USA ?
I've only put a sunshine symbol :o)
5 Mar, 2009
Today I'd settle for sun. My cat is upset cause I won't go outside and make it quit snowing. She sits at the bottom of the stairs and howls at me, then when I open the door for her she just backs up, and glares at me.
5 Mar, 2009
Weeds ~
I understand what you mean.
I've owned dogs who think I have power over the weather ~ can make the sun shine.
I'm trying my best with this map ! Lol.
5 Mar, 2009
Hi Terratoonie, I have been feeling something to you, but it really so Terratoonie of splendid idea and senses. Very glad to see Sun Smiles and Paws, both start point and direction are the best.
6 Mar, 2009
Hello Tsuyoshi ~
I'm so pleased you like my weather map of Canada with the sunshines and paw prints !
The good news is that spring is arriving in Canada. :o)
I made anther map for the UK and, good news, today we have sunshine in Britain too ! :o)
6 Mar, 2009
Sorry, my above comment should read 'another map' :o)
6 Mar, 2009
Gr8 news for Canada. Just don't let the heat go much farther north, though, or we'll all become underwater gardeners, haha!
9 Mar, 2009
Maybe I was overgenerous, giving Alaska and Greenland hot sunshine in March. Lol.
9 Mar, 2009
TT, Is your map solar powered? If not you might need to check your batteries. Our weather is deteriorating, Snow, wind, drifts, they're predicting 5 degrees F...that's -15 in English...:-) You have to stop this madness!
9 Mar, 2009
Do you think I should have written 'hot' by Washington State ? ;o)
9 Mar, 2009
How's Truffle? Give him a squeeze. My neighbor has a half grown German Shepard pup that pulled all the wires off her TV antenna dish. Maybe Truffle is messing with the power to your maps...?
9 Mar, 2009
TT ~ Something is definitely wrong with the map....They're predicting lows down to -25C (-13F) over the next few days...one day even down to -29C (-20F)!! And to top it off...winds that will make it feel even colder. BBBbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrr! What is going on this year?? By now the snow is usually gone and the ground starting to thaw. HELP!! HELP!! SOS! SOS!
10 Mar, 2009
Truffle has produced so many hot puddles that he's thrown the world climate into disarray !
There are cold winds and strong rain in England ~
Our sunny UK map is not so reliable, either. :o(
Truffle sends hugs to everyone in USA and Canada.
I feel sorry for the neighbour with the GSD chewing up everything.
Truffle is small, but I'm for ever watching what he might gnaw on next ! Yesterday he found one of James Roof's tassels and was having a quick chew on that..........
10 Mar, 2009
Went to visit with my neighbor that has the German Sheppard a few days back, left my Wellies on the porch. When I got ready to leave, Beau had one of my boots at the end of their driveway. :-) Should have seen me hopping on one foot through the snow to rescue it. Might want to think of Wellie Olympic event for him, he's a natural.
By the way we got 5 inches of fresh snow yesterday, in drifts above my boots. Humbug!
10 Mar, 2009
Your weather will now improve FAST.
This Canada map was stuck for ages on unlucky 13 'likes'. I have a phobias about number 13 ! Now it will be sunshine all the way. Lol.
What a pity you don't have some photos of Beau stealing your wellie ! As you say, could be a good new Winter Wellie Olympics event. What would you suggest ?
10 Mar, 2009
Did you realize that Friday the 13th is this Friday?
It's MINUS 4 DEGREES F. this morning. Thats minus 20 degrees C to you! Argh!
Beau could be Winter Wellie Wangler of the World!
Or Freestyle Furtive Filcher
11 Mar, 2009
Oh, Weeds, I really do feel sorry for you in those freezing conditions !
Here in England we have warm sunshine and Truffle has been out to the pet store for the first time. Soooooooooo excited, greeting everyone.
How about this title for Beau ~
GoY Winter Olympics Wellie Wielding World Champion ?
11 Mar, 2009
I like it. :-)
12 Mar, 2009
Friday 13th tomorrow ~
How's the weather now, Weeds ? :o)
Weather forecast for tomorrow in England ~
a high of 13 degrees C.
I hope thirteen will be lucky for you....
12 Mar, 2009
13 degrees on Friday the 13th? That's just asking for trouble!
Today we travelled to the southern part of Washington about 140 miles, it was much warmer there...hated to come home. Even some shades of "greenish" in the wheat fields. Weatherman says it's going to get better. :-)
13 Mar, 2009
Wow....It is supposed to be 8C tomorrow and RAIN!! Not so keen on the rain but at least it has warmed up. I'm sending it on down to you Weedy. Watch out.
13 Mar, 2009
Love the smilies and the paw prints.Another masterpiece....
13 Mar, 2009
Tina, Gilli, Weeds ~
The smiles and pawprints seem to be working at last !
Warmer weather on the way for USA and Canada. :o)
13 Mar, 2009
It was a stubborn winter, TT, but I think you have whipped it into submission! It's not to soon to make plans for next winter, that'll be a sticky wicket considering the Olympics and all. Just enough winter but not too much. :-)
14 Mar, 2009
Ghana's first ever Winter Olympics entrant is currently ski-training in England ~
He has a great name ~ Kwame Nkrumah-Archeampong ~ known as the "Snow Leopard". Let's hope he doesn't bring so much Ghanian heat to Canada that he melts the slopes. Lol. :o)
14 Mar, 2009
Thanks TT. (I think!) just had a look at the long range forecast and guess what they are calling for on the 21st.???? You guessed it ...we are going to get more snow!!! As for as tropical climate olympians competeing in winter games...I refer you to a movie based on a true story...of a Jamaican bobsled team...the movie is called "Cool Runnings" a good chuckle or two about some very brave young Jamaican men taking on one of the most dangerous and speedy events of the winter olympiad...
16 Mar, 2009
Oh Lori !
Not more snow ?
I hope the sunshines on my map will melt it all quickly. :o)
In Vancouver it will be interesting to see which nations are competing with their first ever Winter Olympians. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing "Snow Leopard" compete. Lol
17 Mar, 2009
TT...
more snow for Canada..
There's now about 2 feet of snow on the ground here now...
I have posted some pics...But spring will come!
24 Mar, 2009
Oh, no. NN !
I'll go look at your pictures.
Sorry my stick-on sunshines aren't working for you. Lol.
24 Mar, 2009
oh i WISH it was hot here but it is still pretty chilly :( luckly crocuses are comeing out now :D
26 Mar, 2009
Wishing you warmer weather, Sandygrove :o)
Britain had sunshine last week, but now we're back to chilly winds and showers !
27 Mar, 2009
Makes anyone smile! Can I put in an order for your forecast for January 2010!!
11 Jul, 2009
