Very nice BB. We have lots of butterflies around at the mo - but the small, brown type. They dont stay still for very long to check their colours.

Thanks Dawn...like I really need the extra exercise !

Ha ha - looks like our stinging nettles are doing the trick then with all these butterflies around and the buddleias are in bud ready for them so all is good!
30 Jun, 2009
I'm glad it's not just me being a lunatic, Bb! I've been chasing butterflies all week - hehe!

My Verbena bonariensis are just coming into bloom - last year they were the plant where I was able to photograph most butterflies! I shall be lurking with my camera.... hehe!
3 Jul, 2009
Happy lurking Spritz ! Hope you get some great photos !
Thanks all...

They seem to depart when the weather's dull and dreary, like today.
3 Jul, 2009
We had dull and dreary too today, but it was better to work in !
3 Jul, 2009
I'm sure it was, Bb! I gave myself the day off - I went swimming, then to a discount village for some bits and pieces. NOT plants! (Makes a change!)The car said it was 7 degrees cooler than yesterday.
3 Jul, 2009
Put in 6 days last week so giving myself weekend off ! Plenty to do in our garden though, and lawn needs cutting.Am banned from cutting it third week in July as Jane reckons thats when baby frogs will be emerging from pond ! Lol

On a lane over the Quantock Hills, at one side there's a reservoir. There are notices on the lane saying 'Toads crossing' with a large pic of a toad! The signs get folded over when the toads are NOT migrating to the reservoir!
How about that? LOL.
4 Jul, 2009
lovely close-up BB wish i could get one to stay still long enough
4 Jul, 2009
Haven't seen one of these this year, only got Painted Ladys in my garden.
4 Jul, 2009
Think the answer to provide a butterfly bench Sanbaz. Let them flit round the garden they ll eventually be glad of the rest
Only Painted Ladies ? Not seen one for many years so think you very lucky Oldgunner.
4 Jul, 2009
not heard of that BB you mean a bench close to plants!
4 Jul, 2009
Beautiful butterfly.
5 Jul, 2009
Bonkers. I understand what you mean about Milky getting worse! What would a meer woman know about LED's?
5 Jul, 2009
Yes Sanbaz some people might choose to sit on them but our wildlife use it to over look the pond the only thing with more bird pooh on it is my van .
Thanks Sunblest
Aye Toto initially I thought the same as you then wondered if shes got them fitted to Ray ..so she can find him in the dark to wake him up and send him to bed .
