How impressive it looks lit up like that. It must have been wonderful to see ... and the pageant with your brother in it aswell.

I love how all the traditions are kept alive,by dedicated people..even though I'm not a religious person,I love the Abbey,for it's architecture,and the Pageantry..lovely blog and pics..hope you find the moon one :o)

I think that year Mr Hywel, my borther ,sis-in-law, 2 nephews and my lovely Dad were all in it! Bro has pics of the re-enactment but he doesnt have pics of the moon! I will find one, someone MUST have take a pic of it!
Diane..all I remember is that it was built by Richard the Lionheart in the 12th century for monks..I should know more..lol..but there is a lot of blurb about it on the internet.
BLoomer they do the re-enactment every 5 years, but every year they have a porcession down the High street up to the Abbey and like today, my bro is going with about a dozen others to do a small re-enactment at some show thing...i dont know lol. I guess its all good fun.
I rememebr Dad having to wear long johns and beige coloured socks with his sandals to keep him warm lol they were not meant to wear anything on their feet except sandals!

Well I think they do it every 5 yrs or so. It was the atmosphere that got me really..i didnt even hear what they were talking about lol..and that moon!!!!!!! wow!!
