Willi's garden

Got a distress call last week from my friend Willi nilli. Come over Poppy, the garden is looking dreadful. Dont know what Im doing wrong was the plaintive cry! Well after looking at these photos perhaps you can all help reassure her – she’s doing absolutely nothing wrong. In fact her garden is looking really lovely, with promise of lots of flowers to come. Im sure other Goyers will agree. Just keep doing what youre doing Willi, I love your garden.
Im sure Willi wont mind my saying, hers is not the largest of gardens. However, she really makes the most of every available space, with some inovative and creative ideas. I love how shes used an old shoe rack mounted on the fence to house troughs filled with strawberries. Sorry I didnt get a photo, perhaps Willi will oblige. A few more photos -Even the utilitarian areas are so tidy and crammed full of plants!!
I love the little sign on your shed Willi.
Its been a big change this year, swapping perennials for annuals but Im sure you wont regret it. Your garden is doing just fine. Im sure alot of Goyers will love it just as much as me.

Mmmmn not quite sure I would describe her as shy Grandmage!!! I just thought she needed a bit of reassurance. Its a bit scary when you've made such a major change in your garden. I dont know if you saw her photos last year. It was all wall to wall annuals. Lovely but such hard work!!

Willi SHY !!!
I love it Willi it reminds me of my little yard but bigger and ever so much better. Plus with so many pots you can have a different garden every day if you like. I bought a Clematis called Willy the other day :D

Great garden and so much of interest. The raised beds with the arches work so well.

I think Willi's garden is beautiful! My God woman!

I think it looks fabulous, Willi! :))
Can you come over and sort mine out now???

It is a very nice garden. Its surprising what you can do with a small space.

I think she,s worrying too much her garden is lovely, the weather is not! We're all struggling this year because of the awful weather, I'm still putting plants out in the pots and tubs, lovely yesterday but although its sunny the brisk north easterly takes the edge off it today and is doing nothing for the newly planted tubs.......

I have commented before how wise the people on Goy are! lol Thank you all for your comments. I cant wait for Willi to see this.
Pamg you are sooo right. Some plants have really struggled this year - like acers :-(((( whereas the roses seem to be lapping it up :-)))

Thankyou everyone, I have noticed that PoppyL has failed to tell you about the weeds she had to pull out that I was happerly growing away as flowers! & the lily beetles she had to squish!
She also swore that she could hear the plants calling for more room & when we got back from the GC she had a pep talk to the new plants I had brought saying "Right you lot your on your own, make a dash for it to find a space!) Lol.
Pimp I saw the "Willy" clematis in a catalogue on one of the stands at the Malvern show. PoppyL wanted me to ask the man on the stand if he had a "Willy" but I am far to Shy to do something like that! Lol.
KF im on my way & then we must continue on to Gattina's to build some raised beds for her. Should be back home just in time to put the spring bulbs in, Lol.

If your going to France & Italy, then count me in please! and Willi why didnt you ask the clematis man if he had a 'willy', i was told you weren't shy! Lol

Poppy my conclusion is that willi really wanted to show you what a marvelous job she has made of the garden.

Ooooh Thanks Pimp, I will have to go & have a look :-)
GM I was going to but he was serving someone else & his wife came over instead, we just started giggling, she must of thought we were mad, Lol. I ended up buying 2 Jingle Bells instead.
Brain I really wish that were true, but if you had seen the state I've been in the last 2 weeks you would see I was really pulling my hair out. Its all so new to me its scary, Lol.
Thanks Marion, looks like (in your avatar) your ready for the european road trip, 1st stop France, Yay, Here we go, here we go, here we go! Lol.

20 Jun, 2012

great idea :))))))

All looks good to me.

Looking at the flowers on some weeds they are so pretty, red campion with cow parsley and oxeye daisies with red poppies I saw recently the trouble is let them seed and its trouble.......
One of the secrets I think is to grow plants that like the conditions you have then try odd ones that need more care when you understsnd the garden
You are doing wonderfully well and if someone finds weeds explain about the wildlife you are encouraging.........

It looks a lovely garden. I don't understand what Willinilli thinks is wrong with it. I like the table and chairs, and the polly-grow-thingies full of plants :o)

What a fantastic garden, I thought I made the most of my small patch, but you put me to shame! It all looks absolutely wonderful. When everything comes into flower, when we eventually get some sunny days that last, it will be awsome. :)

It's a lovely garden Willi - full of lots of lovely plants and fab colours. You've got some wonderful arches there too and once all those clematis have taken root, they'll be covered with flowers. Don't forget Rome wasn't built in a day... it will all come together, be patient and you'll wonder what were you ever worrying about! Poppylover to the rescue eh??!

|Heheheeee Petal! That's what you say to me when I want to buy a large specimen plant and you persuade me to get a smaller one and watch it grow. Good advice btw, more fun and easier on the wallet! Willi, Im just donning my Superwoman cloak to come to your rescue...lol.

Thanks everyone for all your encouragement and lovely comments. Im sure Willi will feel alot better now, knowing she's on the right track.
