i have many clematis growing in pots arches borders etc what is best to mulch with cow manure well rotted or can i use chicken pellets or any suggestions please ?? thanks !!

any fibrous material can be used as a mulch, rotted manure, compost , leaf mould, old bark shreddings and even gravel. chicken pellets are a manure and not a mulch, they can be used to give the soil plenty of nutrients for the plants to use.
