Hi everyone ! First of all I just want to thank you for all your comments, but just wanted to add something to my blog.
After reading your comments, I realised that you all thought that the Primroses had just carried on growing !
But…no…these primroses have been totally stationary ! The flowers you are seeing are exactly the same flowers when I dug them up ! Its like they are artificial. This is why I wondered if this had happened to anyone else.
Very strange !

Maybe so Hywel, but it hasn't been a really bad winter up to now ! They are just outside where I can see them from the conservatory and have our breakfasts in there every morning and they have not changed at all ! I bet if I planted them in the garden , they would soon start to shed their flowers. It will be interesting to see how much longer they stay like this !
Hello Sandra, its very strange ! I will let you know if they do change from this state !

That's what I mean Rose ... severe cold would have killed them, so would warm weather :) I'd leave them in the pots. They obviously like it there.

Thanks Hywel, I will !

OH says that freezing conditions can send primroses into a state of dormancy. Maybe they are still asleep and don't know they should be dead!!

Hahaa! Eirlys ! But we don't get many days of freezing conditions here !

Maybe the cool winter temperatures helped them stay fresh :) I've never seen it happen before because they don't usually flower so profusely as that in the autumn.
I hope they last a bit longer for you Rose, they're beautiful ...
