Mid November in my garden

For many of you, myself included, the garden is slowly taking on winter habits. But there is still some colour to lift the spirits.
Beautiful pink stems of P. lutea.
Berries of Cottoneaster horizontalis will help feed the birds too.
From the back garden the early afternoon sun caught the neighbours beech tree, though at a quick glance it looks more birch like. But the bark colour and texture, bud shape etc definitely make it a beech.
This Berberis has thrown out another cluster of flowers.
This Berberis has lovely autumn colour. It was grown from a berry of ‘Helmond Pillar’
I found 2 Saxifraga in flower.
The first is Cotton crochet, the dark leafed form has a blank label, the ink having faded.
The Fuchsia are still putting on a show and due to the dry summer they were rather late in doing so.
The first is David, the second is Mrs Popple.
The agapanthus in a pot has lovely butter yellow leaves as it is dying back. It sits on the corner of the pond wall and you can see the border in front of the rockery. The Nerines and Hesperanthus Jenny are doing well too.
Sorry about the green sacks in front of the green house, they are full of shredded branches and hopefully come spring they will have matured enough to go down as a mulch.
The Persicaria Red dragon is covered in lots tiny of creamy white flowers.
This Rose Ghislaine de Feligonde is trying again to put on a show. I must prune her next spring.
We have had a few frosts that has put paid to the Dahlias but other plants are still hanging on. Hope you have colour in your garden still.

The flowers on your Persicaria look so pretty. You have a lovely blend of rich autumnal colours and softer, lighter shades.

Very cheering Sbg. Those Saxifrage are lovely aren't they?
My flowers have all gone except for one small rose, but with the leaves more or less down now we can enjoy the beautiful tracery of the trees. The sycamores are at their best when bare - put up with their seeds for that!
My Saxifrage have been overtaken by the Magnolia and its too dark for them now - keep meaning to move them but there's always something else to do first...
Your fuchsias were lucky to have escaped the frost so late in the season. Ours went several weeks ago.

thank you for your comments. yes I am fully recovered now and back to digging. I dug a 2x3m patch the other day and moved a rose that was too close to the hedge. the fuchsia David is next to the hedge and the other next to the kitchen wall so they are protected a little bit.
I have tried to plan the garden so I have something in flower or of interest all year round. I often get a rose from new dawn at Christmas.
our beech is now totally bare of leaves and when the sky is blue behind it ,it looks amazing.

I like your big greenhouse :)

yes it is quite big Hywel. When we moved here there was a 10x8 already there. The house we were leaving had a 10x8 too but the new owners didn't want it so said we could take it with us. So hubby arranged them so there is a door at each end. useful for shifting things about.

Love the Berberis, adding it to my shopping list for next Spring. Thanks for the tour.

Hi Eileen, still quite a lot of interest in your garden,I was looking around mine this afternoon, and I have 5 species which are in flower, and a couple with berries, 3 weeks ago I had about 16 species in flower, but the winter flowering plants are in bud now, Derek.
